We continue our story from the business card pictured on the left where Franky Banky is ordering coffee. The barista asked for his name but Franky Banky is worried about stuttering.
He ponders if he should give a fake name that he can say fluently. Or does Franky Banky face his fear and take the time he needs to say what he needs to say…?

Ok, maybe this is an extreme scenario of the consequences from allowing fear of embarrassment from stuttering to dictate your life. But the point I’m trying to make here is to reap the benefits of facing your fears and giving the opposite a try.
Reasons being:
There are a lot more nice people on the planet than there are nasty ones
Some people may simply have never heard of stuttering before
Some people may not know how to react when someone is stuttering, but they mean well
People are genuinely interested in learning about stuttering
There is a heck of a lot more to us stutterers than our stuttering
