The vital importance of awareness

Episode #123. On this episode, we hear from listeners who share their stories of disclosure and stuttering’s ups and downs. I also share my thoughts on the vital importance of stuttering awareness.

Recently, a teenage stutterer committed suicide because of his speech. It is important that we spread the message about the benefits of both offline and online stuttering support groups. We also need to continue educating the public about the myths and realities behind our speech because life does not need to be unbearable when you have a speech impediment.

Good episode. Not what I thought it was going to be. I thought you were going to interview others who had contemplated talking their own life because of their stuttering seeming so hopeless.
But this was more just several people talking about disclosure and the benefits of such.
    Nice job!
