Episode #88

On today’s episode, I share with you some pretty nifty things I learned at the fantastic and highly recommended PAB conference (check out my photos and then see better ones). Mostly, I’m explaining the benefits of YOU starting up your own stuttering website, blog, podcast, whatever you like! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the Internet is our playground and it’s so easy for all of us to use it to reach out, help and learn from each other. Regardless of technical knowledge.
Then I shift into NSA mode where in about 2 weeks, I’ll be attending my very first stuttering convention! What should I bring? What should I prepare for?
This is an open-mic podcast. I encourage you to record some audio of yourself and email it to me at coolstutter@gmail.com.
I'll play it on my next episode!
This way, we all hear each other stutter and feel less alone with our speech impediment!

I was happily surprised to hear you mention me and my new podcast on this episode. Yes, if not for you, I would not have started “Women Who Stutter: Our Stories”. This week I will post episode 11. Hard to believe. You are right – it feels really good to put something out there that I know is having an impact. And you elped me through the process so I now feel your empowerment.
June 29th, 2010 at 07:26As for NSA, bring an open and positive outloook. You may hear things you don’t agree with. People differ greatly in their approaches to therapy. Bring a willingness to meet as many people as possible. Bring stamina. You may not get much sleep. Bring money – you will need to purchase all of your meals except Sat night dinner. Bring a notebook to write down everyone’s email addresses.
Warm up your smile muscles, you will use them a lot. And maybe some tissue, may need that too.
