I came across this post about Two Types of People in the world written by the innovatively creative and fellow cool stutterer, Ezra Butler.
I’m sharing his post with you because he makes an excellent point about the power of networking when looking for work, partnerships, etc. Fine tuning your search— the value of looking for work on a job board vs. going out there and networking. Ezra also talks about the various types of networking (online, events, etc.).
I recently subscribed to Ezra’s blog* and its quickly becoming one of my favourites. I really like his writing style and his articles help you improve yourself. I also like how he mixes life lessons he learned from his family. A recurring theme is his mother’s advice of “you never know”.
Though Ezra doesn’t blog about stuttering, his posts can certainly be related to coping with it. For example, I also recommend another recent posting entitled How to Successfully Pretend to be Successful. Image is everything which, in my opinion, can overcome any misconceptions about stuttering.
*technically, it isn’t a blog. It’s a Posterous account. But still. It looks like a blog, it acts like a blog. It has an rss. It’s a blog.
This is an open-mic podcast. I encourage you to record some audio of yourself and email it to me at coolstutter@gmail.com.
I'll play it on my next episode!
This way, we all hear each other stutter and feel less alone with our speech impediment!
