Lots of links lately, eh? I was alerted by Stuttering.Me of a Canadian poet by the name of Jordan Scott who is a fellow stutterer. After a little poking around, I came across this CBC show about how language is processed in the Broca’s Area of the brain. It’s very interesting and you’re taken on an audio journey into the brain as we learn how, well, language is processed. The subject turns to stuttering a little after the halfway mark where we hear an interview with Jordan Scott as he talks about how it feels like to live with a stutter, its awkwardness, etc. He also offers a clever little trick to prevent you from stuttering an order.
Edit (January 28, 2009): I’ve thought it over and realize that clever trick he mentioned (humming before giving an order) is really a secondary. We want to stay away from those!
